Hello to you all and welcome to week 5, I think, of lock-down and your weekly newsletter. I hope this finds you all safe and well as expected during these unprecedented times.
Learning: First of all I want to say an enormous thank you to all of those who have accessed Seesaw for the past two weeks. For the first week we had 2645 posts from the children. 735 family visits and 2812 likes from the staff. All of the staff have said what an absolute pleasure it is to see their work, hear their voices and see their faces. It is our target that we get all of our full time children accessing seesaw and supporting their learning in a consistent way so that all our pupils have the same learning activities and that staff can help them and you during these times. We are aware that the work may seem overwhelming at times for some especially when the work is sent for the whole week, so please remember what has been our advice from the start; little and often. Some children work at different speeds and each class posts enough work to keep all the children busy. Also remember that staff are available should you need any support or guidance. If you have not accessed this yet or are having problems accessing please do not hesitate to contact the class teacher or school. Achievements: Also we have announced our Time Table Rock Star certificates for our first battle for our Year 2 - Year 6 pupils. Well done to all our winners! Continue to support your class with the battles and keep learning times tables! Classes will continue to have battles next week. Get ready for the announcement! A huge well done to all our special mentions this week, the teachers are finding it extremely difficult to just pick two based on the amount and quality of work the pupils are producing. Please continue to do this, we all could not be more proud of our whole school community, supporting each other. Moving forward: As I am sure you are all seeing, hearing and reading a range of opinions of when schools will re-open, partially re-open like all of us are. Please be patient, none of us know what the government is going to do, how they will advise us to do it and especially when this time will be. It is merely speculation and opinions at the moment. All we can do and ask of you is to continue to support your child at home with their learning, keep them being active and as calm and settled as possible, Once the facts are published, we will communicate the way High View will be opened in whatever fashion this will look like. In the meantime, stay calm, stay at home and stay in touch! Once again, we could not be more proud to be a part of the High View family, every parent we have had contact with has been so supportive, caring and patient with everything and all the changes that have had to take place. You have all made a challenging time so much easier with your positive attitudes! Thank you and look after yourselves.
