At High View we believe that high quality PE and school sport play a vital part in the development of the whole child. PE and sport should be fun, challenging, accessible and appropriate to the child. It should engage all abilities and ensure great progress for all with social, psychological, physical and technical skills.
Each year children from High View compete in a variety of sports against other schools from Barnsley and South Yorkshire. Our children are praised in assemblies for their efforts and any awards presented.
Over the years our pupils have built a reputation for thoroughly enjoying their sport whilst showing good behaviour, fair play, sportsmanship, teamwork, and, togethernous. We encourage our pupils to express themselves and increase their self belief.
We run a range of After School Sports Clubs throughout the academic year at High View. These include Multi-Sports, Gymnastics, FA Shooting Stars Football inspired by Disney, and many more. We also run a Morning Move it activity session before school as we believe in active lifestyles and the importance of this with improvement in children's concentration levels in school.
High View Primary Learning Centre achieved Platinum award in the most recent year School Games Mark was awarded. As well as this we are also part of the Totally Runable Girls and Sports Pledge for Schools, and have strong links to many sporting partners and clubs.
