Art is important at High View! We believe all children can be artists.
We are proud to say that we achieved the Gold Artsmark award. This demonstrates our commitment to teaching art as a priority in our school. We have links with a number of artists who visit the school to share their expertise. Recently we have been pleased to meet Ashley Jackson, a local artist who presented Arts Awards to a large group of children who had excelled at the arts.
Children are encouraged to express themselves through the Arts. Children are given the opportunity to take part in a range of educational visits to enrich their learning; many of these include an arts theme. Classes have a particular main theme such as science or history but projects always include a range of creative and artistic activities. We also provide the opportunity to engage in theatre performances and work with visiting artists. We aim to provide an art and design curriculum which engages, inspires and challenges our pupils as well as developing their knowledge and skills. Trips and special visitors are linked to art and design, giving children inspiration for their work.
Art is important to us and if you look around at our displays then you will see what we can achieve!
