All children of statutory school age are expected to attend school regularly and on time. By having robust attendance procedures in place, we can support parents to ensure that their child has excellent attendance and that he/she is therefore able to make the most of any opportunities for learning. As a school we hold good attendance and punctuality in high regard; it is a life skill and it is massively important for children to learn this at an early age. We hope all of the children at High View Primary Learning Centre go on to have successful and happy careers, if they so choose - being at work regularly and on time is important!
If your child is absent please contact the absence line on 01226 757504 or contact reception to speak to Mrs Paling by 9.15 am to inform school of the reason for their absence.
If we have had no contact by 10 am on the day of absence you will receive a text asking you to contact school.
A second text will be sent if there is still no contact by 10.30am to inform parents that a welfare visit will have to take place if no contact is made.
The welfare call will take place before lunch time.
Obviously as a school wanting to ensure that your child’s attendance is at least meeting our attendance target set by the government, we have put new policies and procedures in place to keep you fully informed of your child’s attendance should they have time off school for any reason and how or what support school can offer.
Our up to date procedures for managing and supporting attendance this year are to be as follows:
Your support
Attendance is a whole school team effort and with this, the school needs your support in ensuring that your child is attending school every day and reaching their potential and receiving the same educational offer as all of the other pupils we have in school. We are all really looking forward to reaching our attendance target this year and working together to achieve this.
As a school we are obviously aware that some children do become too ill to attend and we are sympathetic to this. The above procedures will be in place as a means of support for you and your child.
We remind you should your child be off school for whatever reason to contact the attendance line on: 01226 757504 or contact reception to speak to Mrs Paling.
