Events this week:
Key Stage Two have all attended the church service where our Chair of Governors reported that, “Christmas service/concerts at St Mary’s this week were brilliant – the singing, readings and soloists were the best I’ve ever heard from any school visiting St Mary’s. In addition, the behaviour of all children was exemplary.” Do I need to say anything other than Amazing! We have had all our Christmas parties, with a very special visitor for Key Stage One. Again the behaviour was excellent and all children seemed to be having fun. Key Stage One performed their Nativity twice this week and both performances were fabulous with many of the audiences saying how great it was, it made them cry with joy and that it now felt like Christmas. Well done to all the children! Foundation Stage had a visitor in school this week - they completed lots of different activities, they sang and invented a vehicle to get the elf home, thankfully he did! Again thank you to all who attended our carol service today and to our parent’s group who provided drinks. Have a fantastic break and Christmas. See you all in 2018 Dance and drama is a big part of our foundation stage curriculum. We had a special visitor on Wednesday. The Funky Fairy came to ask for our help. Eddie the elf was having terrible problems with his sleigh and he needed us to help him! As part of our drama we got dressed in boots, scarves and gloves, went through a snow blizzard and created amazing flying machines, all with our imagination! Have a look at our photos and see if you can work out what we are doing!
A massive thank you again for all the fabulous entries to our annual Christmas Tree Competition. I'm very glad that I was not involved in the judging; as always the standard was incredibly high! Below are photographs of our worthy winners. Huge congratulations to them! Y4 Y5 Y6
The FS2 and Year 6 children partnered up for our walk. The Year 6 children were so gentle towards the younger children, talking to them as they walked along.
The children listened to Mrs Blewitt from Bookstart talking about the library and she read some stories and sang some rhymes with us. The children read stories together, and new friendships were formed! We are hoping to visit the library again in the Summer term. Here are a few of the photos we took of the children in their Christmas jumpers. We had a lovely Christmas dinner and the children were so excited about the change in our uniform!
