Academic Year 2019 -2020
Well, what a year or should I say what an end to a year! First of all, can I please thank each and every one of the High View Team - staff, parents, pupils, governors, The ECM Trust Team, Engie and ISS who have all supported the safe running of school. We could not have done such a thorough job without each individual and their support. The support, kindness, patience and hard work have been invaluable and I am and will be always truly thankful for everything you have all done to make this time bearable and possible. The children have continued to demonstrate the High View ethos of working hard, being kind and helpful, listening and looking after themselves. They have continue to complete the work we have set, they have done this with great effort and we know they will be ready to come back and take on the next challenge of being back at school and catching up! We know you will be eager and ready for this and as excited as we are! Children you have been truly remarkable and we have all enjoyed looking at how your learning has continued during this time. You have continued to follow in the rules of the school and we are so proud of you all. Thank you! You have made us all proud and we are so excited to have you all back in school. We are ready to start the next adventure together, so advice is: have a wonderful and safe summer holiday and get well rested for the start of term. The adults at home: well where do I start? You have taken on the teacher role as well as continuing being the parent. We know this is no easy task and we will forever be grateful for everything you have done during this time. Your support and extreme kindness has inspired and kept us all going at school and you have made it so much easier with your positive comments, praise and encouragement. Thank you is just not enough and the whole staff team have nothing but adoration and appreciation for all that you have done. Well done and thank you! Staff, oh what a team! As an individual, I have been reminded of how hard it is learning new skills and knowledge. Covid-19 has given me the insight again of what our pupils feel when learning and I also know what a supportive, kind, patience and skilled set of staff they have. You have all got us through this time, and I am truly fortunate and lucky to be part of your team. You too have been invaluable and you will always be held in my heart for all that you have done and will continue to do for the good of the pupils. Year 6! I really do not know where to start to be honest. Yes, it is not what we expected. No it is not what we normally do! Yet the time we have spent on seesaw, in class, making the year books, deciding on what we could do as a sendoff and the changes on what we have offered you has been emotional and have continued to enable us all to stay connected and have a wonderful, emotional ending. One which represents you all so well, the singing, the videos and messages you have got to keep, have been amazing and enjoy! You have all continued to be brave, determined and resilient during this time and we could not be more proud of each and everyone of you. You are now all ready to go off and enjoy the next adventure. You are ready, you will have an amazing time, learn new skills and make new friends. Just remember, you have had the foundations of what a positive and successful citizen looks like and what is expected. Continue to follow the golden rules and the world is your oyster! Thank you to each and every one! Please continue to stay safe, stay alert and follow the guidance. Remember, just because school is closed, does not mean the roads are closed so be careful when out an about! Have a well deserved summer holiday, we will be waiting for you all to return and we cannot wait to see you all! All our love Miss Smith and the High View Team.

You will have all received your transition letter about which class your child will be in from September. From Monday, please go on to the website to read our transition booklets and watch the introduction videos from the staff. This should help any child who is unsure about coming back and feeling a little nervous. They will remain on our website all through the summer so they can keep looking at them and watching them to help them feel more confident.
As you can imagine, we are all ever so excited to be able to open our doors to all of our pupils in September (hopefully). We are now beginning to make the plans, create the risk assessments and ensure the school will be ready for all pupils. Once these plans are finalised we will communicate all information to you. Under the guidance it is still looking like there will be: - Separate class bubbles. - Staggered start times, play times, lunch times and home times. - Regular respiratory and hand hygiene procedures. - Adults wearing PPE. -Western Terrace probably still closed -Car park closed for certain times. - No parent workshops, large gatherings on site - No parents in school. - 2M distancing on collection and drop offs for parent/carers. and lots more differences. Our annual reports are to be emailed out to you next week. These will be sent across the week in classes and year groups. You will receive a text on the day to inform you that the report is about to be emailed. We want to thank you for your continual support with these. We would appreciate any comments you wish like to make regarding your child's report through an email, Class Dojo or seesaw instead of the comment sheet we sent out and as an acknowledgement of receipt of the report. As you will be able to see from the reports, we have had to change the format for Years 1- Year 6 due to not having been taught the whole curriculum. It just leaves me to say please continue to encourage the children to complete the learning tasks throughout the next two week. Next week would have been transition week and the tasks have been set and will be seen by their new teacher in order to begin to build up relationships. Any work sent through Class Dojo will also be shared with the new teacher during our transition meets which are also taking place between this year and next year staff so please do not worry if you are not on Seesaw. Thank you ever so much for all that you are doing, all your kindness and support and more importantly patience during these times. However, we all have everything crossed for a fabulous start to September and absolutely cannot wait until we are all together. We have already started counting down the days, so please remain calm, stay safe, and continue working so you are ready for school to fully reopen! School will be in contact with you as soon as we have more information, plans and information that will support yourselves and the children upon their return. Have a great weekend, Miss Smith |
