This is 2SB's Golden Rule video, be honest! Can you think of a difficult situation when you have been honest?
Thank you to all children and staff who worked so tireless in preparation for the anti-bullying exhibition today. The hall was full of examples of the childrens' brilliant work.
Thank you also to parents who took the time to come and celebrate the children's achievements - it was wonderful to see you! In Year 2 we had a circle time to share our experiences of good friendship. Some children were able to explain what they thought a good friend was and why. Other children talked about one particular time when they felt that someone had been a special friend. A few children explained how they will be a good friend in the future.
During Anti-Bullying Week, we focused on "using our powers for good", but also eSafety and combating cyber bullying. This was inspired by the recent BBC News article about the increase in cyber bullying and the number of children who are affected, and also our recent trip to Crucial Crew. We shocked the children with how vulnerable they are on line. They could not believe how many of their photographs and conversations we could get hold of, just because they had not made their online profiles private. They were also astounded at how easy it was to set up an account in anybody's name and how easily they all fell for it. Hopefully, they have learnt from this and will be more careful with their online lives from now on! The children then worked in groups to create "anti-bullying campaigns". The work they produced ranged from good old fashioned posters to videos and memes. See below for some of our favourites. |
