The children where so excited to tell us about their Bonfire night experiences and this developed into a talk about keeping safe . We discussed how to contact the emergency services by dialing 999 and the children were keen to act this out. We soon developed a High View firefighting team.
We have had such fun this week making bread. We read the story of The Little Red and we were inspired to work together to make some bread. We hope you enjoyed eating it at home.
It is harvest time! The children were so excited to harvest their own vegetables to sell in our farm shop.
We had some special visitors to nursery this week , Claire and Emily from 'My Dentist'. They told us about how many times a day we should brush our teeth and for how long we have to brush our teeth for. It was really interesting finding out about which foods are kind to our teeth. We even got to wear the uniform and role played being a dentist.
Our nursery is a hive of activity with new red jumpers! We would like to thank all parents for their support and understanding during our transition weeks. The children are beginning to settle into our routine and are becoming eager to join in and take part in our activities. We look forward to sharing their learning journey with you.
On Wednesday we went for a walk around the school grounds to see if we could spot any signs of Spring. We also listened very careful to see if we could hear any of the birds singing. We first we spotted daffodils, then snowdrops and some of the trees have tiny buds on.
The Nursery children enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year by making paper lanterns and filling and emptying bowls with rice. We had great fun trying to eat our noodles with chop sticks at snack time.
At High View Nursery we want to build upon the learning that has taken place in the home. We aim to provide children with a rich variety of challenging play activities and other experiences in a stimulating environment.
