We all had a wonderful treat this afternoon when the Barnsley Into Music team came and gave us a small concert. They brought with them a range of wind and brass instruments and played some of our favourite tunes. We even heard what the garden hose pipe sounds like as an instrument! We were very impressed. The children were all enthralled and we look forward to encouraging some more budding musicians to experience a range of musical instruments.

Year 4 children and their adults watched a PowerPoint presentation about our anti-bullying theme ‘change starts with me’. They then designed anti-bullying slogans on cut-out hands to get their message across. It was a very successful morning.
The pupils in school for the past two weeks have been looking at ‘what makes us unique’, ‘different is good’ and ‘kindness and change starts with you’ themes for anti-bullying week. They have all worked extremely hard and completed an array of activities. When asked in assembly “Have we noticed a difference with our kind acts?” the best comment was, “No, school feels exactly the same as we are always this kind to each other. We are always kind.” What an amazing way to describe school.
Year 2 and Year 5 Remembrance Service at Wombwell Cemetery – The whole school participated in a Remembrance service with our Year 2 and Year 5 representing school in Wombwell Cemetery. They did this with respect, pride and honour for all the servicemen/women in the past, present and for the future.
Our Year 2 children and their adults had an amazing time creating poppies using the bottom of bottles in preparation for their Remembrance Service. They look truly incredible and will support all of us remembering those who gave their lives for us all.
