Well first of all , Happy Easter to you all! I hope this blog finds you safe and well as the lock-down continues.
I want to take this opportunity to say an enormous thank you to all of the adults who are supporting the pupils with their learning, keeping their patience and encouragement to ensure that each and every child has access to learning each day. I am so proud of all the lovely pictures, messages and contact we have had this week with all the evidence of learning taking place. I say this often, but none more so than now, that we could not be as successful without you; the adults at home teaching their own children which I know can be a much more challenging task than teacher others... trust me I am experiencing it too! Please keep doing what you are doing! I also want to thank all of the children who are facing the same challenges of motivation, enthusiasm, boredom and the desire to be with family and friends. I ask you to be patient and keep with a routine of doing learning tasks, exercise and spending time with those you live with. It is extremely important we follow the rules to enable us all to be able to come back together once this is all over. Finally, I know I do not do this often but I wanted to thank all the staff at High View for those that have been in school supporting our pupils, ensuring we have food to eat, the school is clean and for those attempting to have Easter holidays but are also providing support through Class dojo, Purple Mash, planning our weekly tasks and ensuring that learning continues to take place. Again, without you the school would not keep running, in whatever way that is at the moment, without you. New and exciting changes as of Week Commencing 20.4.20 As I type, it is looking likely that school will continue to be on partial opening for our key workers and vulnerable over the next few weeks. Based on this assumption, we are now looking at launching a programme Seesaw which will provide a platform for teachers to plan work, pupils to upload their work and then teachers can comment on the work they have completed. This will hopefully encourage all pupils to engage in their learning and feedback can be shared. More information will follow this next week as we begin to orgainse the information needed and actions you need to take to get in up and running. Support at home Before the lock-down, we sent letters out asking for those that do not have access to the internet or have a tablet or laptop to use. Please contact school next week if you do not have access to either of these and we will offer whatever support necessary and that is available to school. Once again thank you to each and everyone of you for supporting the school and the learning of our pupils. If you need any support please contact school. Thanks Miss Smith
