Visit from the Firefighters

The children had a big surprise today! A crew of firefighters came to visit in their fire engine. We didn't tell the children in advance in case there was an emergency and they couldn't come, but luckily it was a quiet morning for them! The children were so excited and afterwards said that it was the best day ever! They all got the chance to sit in the fire engine and also to squirt the hose. They also told us lots of information about what to do if we ever see a fire. The children were given a special job to do, they have to check that their house is fitted with smoke detectors and ask their adult to press the button and make sure they are working.
