Well, I think we have survived the first brand new week at school. Well done to each and every one of you! The children have been absolutely incredible, following the new rules and procedures, following the golden rules and just being truly inspiring with their positivity and eagerness to be back in the building. All adults in the school have been blown away with how they have managed the situation and settled so quickly. We are also so relieved and thankful for all the parents and carers positive and patient manner during these times as like with everything, it is completely new and things have been tweaked and hopefully made your experience of dropping off and collecting the best it can be. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You have made it so much easier and manageable with your smiles and supportive words. With this in mind, right from the start of this pandemic, the school has continuously reflected on what are the best ways to support you, the parents, ensuring the pupils are on site in the safest possible way and that all pupils are accessing the best education possible. We have therefore observed, listened to you and agree that the sibling rule of when to come on site and be collected needs tweaking. For those families ONLY with siblings you were asked in the summer to come at the later time and collect at the earliest times. However, what has happened is that the learning time for these limited number of pupils will be lost. Also there are parents that like to make sure they are early for collection meaning we have a high number of adults on site at the later times. Therefore the new organisation from Monday 7th September If you have more than one child in school and it is difficult to drop them off at the allocated times then please drop your children off at the earliest time and pick both children up at the later time. An example would be - you have one child in Y6 and another in Y2, the Y6 child would go in first (8.30) and then you would take the Y1 child to their doors where a member of staff will take them inside. When picking up you would pick up the Y1 child at 3.25 along with your Y6 child. If the sibling(s) who should start at a later time are in KS2 please send them through reception but pick them up from their classroom doors. If the sibling(s) are in FS2 or KS1 please take them to their allocated drop off points. For those with siblings where times are within a reasonable time of each other please keep to these times and collect at the relevant doors to reduce the numbers on site and numbers collecting at doors. Also please can I ask that parent and carers attempt to stick to the times for their children as the staggered starts and finishes is to reduce crowds and that all adults have the room to keep 2 metres apart. We will be starting our ZOOM assemblies next week where we will be celebrating attendance, awarding special mentions and our Golden Rule winners. All of which will be shared on our weekly newsletter blog. Once again, thank you so much for your support and patience and please do not hesitate to get in touch with class teachers, the office or myself for any queries or support regarding your child. We really do hope the changes we have made support yourselves and the children’s learning. Remember, adults are around school and are there to help, guide and ensure all children arrive safely and leave safely. Many thanks for your continued support Miss Smith
