A special visitor

We gave a warm welcome to Thomas today. He is a tortoise and has only woken up from hibernation this month. Apparently the cold weather hasn't agreed with him, so he has slept for longer than usual. He was very energetic and climbed out of the tuff spot then strolled around the classroom approaching the children one by one. He ate some lettuce and the children were amazed at how wide he could open his mouth! The children asked lots of questions and discovered lots of tortoise facts.
