What fantastic timing! Return from half term on Pancake Day. That was definitely a treat for us all. We read the story of 'The big pancake' and the children loved drawing their own illustrations for the story. We had tasty pancakes as a treat and thoroughly enjoyed our day!

This week the children have been given a challenge to design and make a boat using anything from our junk modelling collection. The boats designed have been very varied, from sailing boats, to ferries and even the Titanic! As a class we decided it would be a good idea to wait until the glue had dried, before testing them out. The whole class were gripped by the activity and couldn't wait to do the 'testing'. Some boats floated, some sank or were too top heavy and toppled over. The ones that weren't successful were scrutinised by our expert boat makers and adapted or redesigned.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for supporting us with our sponsored event. The children had a very energetic morning, completing as many 'runs' as they could within 1 minute. They were so enthusiastic and became very competitive, wanting to complete as many as they possibly could. We think that we have many athletes in the making!
