Year  6 trip to the Butterfly House

8/6/2018

On Monday  4th  June, year 6 went on a trip to the Butterfly House. This was part of their newly started topic about rain forests.   The year 6's did an interesting work shop about some of the creatures  that live in the rain forest and we got to hold some of them.  The first species was an overly - grown stick insect that was surprisingly well at camouflaging into the tree bark. Next we held a ten-rec that everyone thought was a baby hedgehog  but it wasn't. Finally, the  3rd  reptile was a baby boa that had really slimy and scaly skin.  This is what Mrs Browne ( a year 6 teacher) had to say about the snake. 'I don't like the way snakes move'. 'I am very scared of spiders and creatures that crawl.' The year 6's really enjoyed the trip and are now writing leaflets to persuade  others to attend. Also a gigantic butterfly landed on Mrs Mundys back.
