Today, we celebrated World Book Day.
In Year 5, we spent the day celebrating our love of reading. We read our favourite books, we played games such as 'Who Am I?' where we were given a secret book character name and we had to guess who we were by asking questions and we also did some paired reading with the younger children in Year 2! At the end of the day, our parents and carers were invited in to read with us.
We had great fun!
We know, in Year 5, reading is an important part of our learning.
Here are 5 reasons why reading is so important:
Reading helps your imagination
Reading helps your concentation and focus
Reading improves your memory
Reading helps with communication
Reading improves writing skills
