Our new science topic in Y4 is electricity. To start off our topic we carried out PAT testing around school, checking various appliances and how they were powered.
Last week the children were given a selection of equipment. We tested our prior knowledge of what the different components were, and learned the names of any we were not sure of.
In groups the children were given the task of using the bulb, bulb holders, wires, batteries, battery holders and crocodile clips to make the bulb light. The children used great problem solving and communication skills to make their bulb light up.
We now what a circuit is and how to make a simple series circuit!
