It has been a great first full week in Year 4.
We have started our topic, focussing all about what the Romans did for us here in Britain.
This week we have been researching all about the first roads in Britain that were designed and built by the Romans. We made some Roman roads using food ingredients to represent the different layers. We have expanded our vocabularly and can now use words such as 'camber', 'fossa', 'groma' and 'architecti'.
Our first writing genre is reports so next week we are looking forward to using all of this new found information to write a report about Roman Roads. Look out for our finished articles and keep an eye out for our title, subheadings and facts!
In other news, this week was our first music lesson with the ukuleles. It was a great experience for all and the start of our musical journey. The children were introduced to their first chords.
In Numeracy the children have been busy rounding to the nearest 10 and 100 - so feel free to test them! They particularly enjoyed applying their learning into problems. See if you can solve this one....
Two different numbers when rounded round to 20. The sum of both these numbers is 39. What are the two numbers?
Thank you for checking out what we have been doing this week in Fabulous Four! We would love to hear from you.
