Today we went on a trip to Ledston Woods as part of our science topic - animals and their habitats.
We found out about different animals that live in that habitat. We discussed what it meant for animals to be herbivores and carnivores. We also talked about animals that are nocturnal and we learnt a new word - dirunal - this is an animal who is awake through the day.
Not only did we find out about animals, we also learnt about plants and their life cycles. We played a game to help us remember how animals play a part in the cycle.
We spent some time in the woods building our own dens! This was exciting and interesting. We had to work hard as a team to move the logs and branches then think carefully about how we would make sure the dens stayed up! Afterwards we stood back and decided that everyone had done a great job but that we all have very different ideas.
