This week our Golden Rule was Be Gentle.
These are our gentle children in Year 6: Kaylie-Mai – just a kind and gentle member of the class. She is a considerate child and looks after her friends. She is a good friend. Eryn-Jenna for being a kind and gentle member of the class and having patience when working in pairs or teams.

This week our honours are:
•Alan – for trying in all subjects, especially maths. For attending every day and being a wonderful member of Year 6. •Lewis – for his bravery and resilience and getting back to learning quickly after his accident. •Chelsea – for her resilience in learning and always putting in 100% effort. Demonstrating a Year 6 attitude at all times. •Finn – demonstrating honesty and taking responsibility for his actions. Owning up to mistakes and learning from them. This week our Golden Rule was Be Honest.
Our winners are: Charlie – for being honest and choosing to do the right thing even when it may have been easier to follow the crowd. Georgie – has shown how he can be honest even when it is hard to be. Today, we attempted to solve this problem. It was frustrating, challenging, made us use our reasoning skills - when we solved it, there was elation! Our Honours this week are:
•Caden – trying hard in maths and having a light bulb moment when a concept came back to him. I am really enjoying having him in class. •Holly – showing commitment to her learning in both class and at home – putting in the extra time and effort to be successful! Fantastic attitude! •Imogen – Just for being Imogen. She is committed to learning both inside and outside school. All homework is completed as well as having several after school activities. •Hollie – has completed read, write inc every day. Completing learning tasks happily and helping at home. What a star! This weeks Golden Rule is Listen to People.
Lewis D – for always listening in learning and acting on any advice and feedback. Your work is always presented beautifully and you are actively engaged in lessons. Scarlett Sh – for always listening, always trying her best and always being an always child. Just a superb attitude in every sense. After completing Holes, we thought we would see if our cast lists were close and watch the film. Whilst watching, we enjoyed our own versions of onions and sploosh!
Before watching the film Holes, we worked on deciding our own cast list by finding actors we thought would represent the characters from the book. We then compared them to the cast of Holes, many of whom we believed were misrepresented!
After enjoying Holes so much, this lucky pupil's mum has bought her the sequel! We cannot wait to hear if she enjoys it!!
