Wow, just wow! What a week is has been with all of you and our launch of our new learning app. There have been a few ups and downs due to technology, internet, us all learning but I think we have overcome this now and we've had a great week with some fantastic learning. Around 2/3 of our year group have now accessed the app and I have seen some great learning from you all. I am hoping that by next week nearly all of our year group are up and running. For every piece of work you all upload, you will be rewarded dojo's so I have now reset the bubbles. Each week we are also choosing "Special Mentions". This week we have chosen; Freddy-James - for excellent story telling. Elise - for great phonics work. Abbie for great writing. Charlie for excellent phonics. But I do want to say to all of you who have uploaded - well done and I am so proud of you all. Keep up the hard work. Below are a few photos of what everyone has been up to!

I wanted to introduce you to Mrs Harding who is now working at High View and is the teacher who has taken over from Miss Taylor whilst Mrs Clow is on maternity leave. Sadly she didn’t get to come into meet you all and we find ourselves in these unprecedented time. Hopefully we will get to all be back together soon and Mrs Harding will get to meet you all properly. I am going to be talking to Mrs Harding tomorrow and will be getting her onto our Seesaw app. Here’s a little video she’s made for you all.
, Hello everyone,
It seems that we are going to be locked down for even longer and no one is yet sure when we can all be back together so as a school we have decided to launch a new app - Seesaw. I have sent out passwords to all of 2SO and 2IC so you all have your own individual passwords and your parents also have had a code to connect to your online journals. Seesaw will allow me to set you work daily during the school weeks and you then save that work and send it back to me so I can see all of the fantastic work you are creating. I know some of you have already logged on and completed the few activities I left for you to try out and get used to. Each day new activities will be assigned at 9 a.m. Each day you will have a maths, RWI phonics, Literacy and a topic based activity. I am so excited that I will be able to see all your work and talk to you about it on here. Some of the activities have voice instructions so have a listen and it will be just like sat in our lovely classrooms :-). This week's story is one of my top 5 - The Tiger Who Came to Tea so there is a weekly menu with activities on this which you will be able to see. Lots of fun, exciting activities to try out :-). If you have any problems just let me know and I will do all I can to support you. I hope we have another wonderful week of sunshine, I am in school this week so we will also be doing the activities. One final thing is from this week I will also be choosing 2 children from each class for a Special Mention; so keep working hard! Miss you all, for now stay safe. Love Mrs O. x P.S - here are a few pictures I have received this week. It's so lovely to see so keep sending them via dojo or adding now to your journals, just like Ava, Ben and Jacob did. As we approach the end of week two of the lockdown, all I can say is I miss you all. Its been a strange couple of weeks. There are still some staff in school and we are taking it in turns to be there and those who aren't are working from home and keeping safe. Today would have been the day we all broke up for Easter although now, school is staying open and some of us are in and some of us are having the holiday and then swapping around. Given this there will be no set home learning for next week but over the weekend some Easter ideas, crafts and activities will be put up to keep you entertained if you need them.
Please do try to enjoy some downtime and have some holiday. Hopefully the weather will be nice and you can enjoy the garden for some fresh air and exercise. Thank you so much for all the wonderful messages and photos I have received this week and please do keep them coming. It's been so lovely to see and share these with everyone. It certainly does make me smile. Keep safe, look after each other, stay safe. Lots of Love Mrs O xxx |
