The impact of our mathematics curriculum will be shown through:
Summative assessment of arithmetic, reasoning and problem solving, using ECM Trust Assessment materials alongside TestBase materials and SATs papers. End of key stage assessments will demonstrate progress and attainment in line with, or exceeding, children’s starting points and national standards.
Monitoring of progress from year to year and key stage to key stage, ensuring pupils remain ‘on track’ from their starting points. If a pupil is identified as not on track, they have appropriate support and/or intervention to catch up.
In-year monitoring of books, alongside pupil voice and lesson observations.
Ongoing utilisation and analysis of ECM Trust and Ready-to-Progress assessment materials. This allows teachers to accurately identify gaps in children’s knowledge and address these key areas.
Daily retrieval tasks are designed to encourage children to recall prior learning and develop mathematical reasoning skills. This time allows teachers opportunity to formatively asses current levels of understanding and plan future lessons accordingly.
