We had our Spring Term Parent Workshop today. What a wonderful morning we had!
We spent our time working in groups to make Viking Longships from the children's designs in class. Everyone put in lots of effort and the finished results are brilliant! Thank you to all that attended or sent in materials for us to use!

This week we have celebrated Safer Internet Day. We have spent time in class discussing the dangers we could encounter when using the internet and web based items such as tablets and games consoles. We then shared ideas and tips on how we can keep ourselves and others safe whilst online.
We decided to create Powerpoints that would educate and inform the other children in school of ways that they can keep themselves safe online and what to do if they feel they are in danger. We used different fonts, images and lots of emojis to make the Powerpoints fun, interesting and appealing for our audience. On Wednesday we had a very exciting and interesting visitor to Year 6. A Viking!
He brought a variety of artefacts, animal skins, weapons and much more. The artefacts helped to make the information he was sharing much more realistic. We learnt a vast amount of new information and cannot wait to continue with our Viking topic this term, starting with some of the Viking Gods! Keep an eye out for our picture in the Barnsley Chronicle this Friday, highlighting the visit. |
