To celebrate Children in Need, Mr Crossley devised a 'Joe Wicks' style PE lesson for the whole school. There were different activities set up around the Courts for us to do in groups.

Today, Wednesday 11th November, was Remembrance Day. We learned all about the importance of Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day and why we should remember those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. We observed a 2 minutes silence and used our collage skills we have been developing in art to create or very own poppies, just like the ones in Flanders Field. These were then made into a wreath which we laid at the Cenotaph in the school library.
We have been exploring different techniques for making a collage in Design Technology. As a year group we are planning a Remembrance wreath collage showing a variety of techniques and textures. It is great fun playing with different materials and ways of composing our poppies for the wreath. In our designs and practise techniques we have used a range of colours, which have proved to be very effective. We are going to practise more before we decide on our own method and materials before we produce our final wreath collage. |
