This week, both Year 4 classes have visited an apothecary in Rotherham. With Magic pulsing throughout the building, the children were amazed as they ventured beyond the bookcase to the secret story area. Inspiration and imagination were the aims of the day, as the children came up with interesting characters, fascinating settings and brilliant plots. All children wanted to write! Thanks Grimm and Co, we look forward to visiting again!

We have been reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and have had a potions lesson in maths. We made a shrinking and growing potion using our knowledge of multiplying and diving by 10 and 100! Oh and measuring of course! Look at our fantastic potions and make sure you always check the label when you have a drink!
As part of our Roman topic we are looking at how they influenced life in Britain. Their inventions and ingenuity when it came to structures particularly roads and bridges changed life in Britain. In our Family Fun Session, we build bridges - they had to be at least 30cm long; be able to withhold different weights up to 500g and be wide enough for a toy car to drive across. All groups were given the same materials (straws, card and tape) to make it fair. There were some ingenious designs! Well done Year 4 children and carers! |
