On Tuesday, all of Year 3 walked down to Wombwell library. The library put on Stone Age activities for all children, with a vast range of relevant books to support them. All children were really keen to join the library, especially when they saw some of the amazing texts on offer. It was great to see all children enjoying different books and developing their love of reading! Keep reading Year 3!

This week, in Guided Reading, children have been looking at different poems and how they can be performed. They all worked in groups to learn 'There's a Monster in the Garden', a performance poem written by David Harmer. Each group then had great fun performing their poem to the rest of the class using actions and lots of intonation and expression in their voice.
This week Year 3 had a visit from the Yorkshire Cricket Board, who put on an exciting cricket-themed problem-solving activity. Children had to solve different mathematical problems to travel around the country to famous cricket grounds. All children worked really hard in their teams, and they were all very interested to see how maths can be applied to everyday problems and subjects, even P.E!
