This week, Year 3 visited the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford to develop their knowledge of light, dark and forces, which they have been learning about in Science lessons. Children took part in a live science 'Light It Up' show and had chance to explore and experiment in the 'Wonderlab'. We also all had an amazing time learning all about space, television and animation, before we had opportunity to play on some retro games consoles! All children behaved and participated excellently and represented High View superbly well.
This week, we have been learning all about bullying. The theme for this year's anti-bullying week was 'Change Starts With Us' so we have been considering what changes we can make to make sure everybody feels as happy and as safe as possible inside and outside of school. We all made a pledge and decorated them in ways to show how we are all different. All of our work was displayed in the hall alongside other year groups' in our Anti-Bullying Showcase which was open for all children and parents to look at. They all looked great!
In year 3, we have been looking at why the poppy is so important to us.
We know that the poppy is a symbol used to pay our respects to the fallen soldiers.
We have created our own poppies which we will use on Monday in our Remembrance assembly. We took great care with our cutting skills to make sure our poppies looked super neat!
Great job Year 3!
