Stig of the Dump is our class read for this term as it links to our topic 'The Stone Age'.
We have only read the first chapter so far and we are HOOKED!
We have explored the front cover, made predictions and discussed other texts by the author Clive King.
Whilst reading the first chapter we have noticed there is a lot of new vocabulary we need to learn such as: copse, flint, paddock, law and glinting. This book is really expanding our vocabulary knowledge!
Chapter 2 is called 'Digging with Stig'
What do you think could happen next?
Another week has passed and we are getting to know each other even better than ever!
In PSHE, we have made 'All About Me' posters. It has been lovely to share photographs, facts and information and learn more about each other.
We have displayed these outside our Y3 classrooms for everyone to see and to celebrate how amazing we all are.
Look at our wonderful work!
Well, what a wonderful start back we have had in Y3!
It has been amazing to see everyone again and be able to get back in the classroom learning.
The children have settled in beautifully and have adapted to our new 'normal' without any hesitation.
As part of our first week back activities we have looked at the text 'The Worrysaurus'. This is a beautiful story about a little dinosaur who learns to set the worry butterflies free and enjoy his day.
We looked at using adjectives to describe the worrysaurus and thought of alternative words (synonyms) for the word 'worried'. We then used our ideas to create our own 'worry animal' description.
