This week in year 3, we became Stone Age artists! The children entered their very own Stone Age cave and created cave painting masterpieces! We have also continued our exploration into light and dark, looking at how shadows are formed and how they change.

This week in Science we have been finding out about light. We used our torches to check whether items around the class room were Opaque, Transparent or Translucent.
Welcome to Year 3! We have had a lovely week settling in and getting used to climbing those stairs to KS2. Already we are learning about the inventions the Stone Age made for us and how they helped us as part of our new topic ' People who help us'.
Thank you to everyone who came to our Welcome Meeting on the 10th September it was lovely to see you all. For those of you who could not attend I hope you received your welcome packs. A few quick reminders - Year 3 have PE on Tuesday afternoon and Mr Cavanagh asks if we could have PE kits please. We also have swimming on Thursday morning. In KS2 we reward reading at home. Once you have read for 25 days we award you in assembly and celebrate your achievement. We have 315 days from when we started school on 5th September 2018 to when we finish on 19th July 2019 which includes weekends and holidays so that 300 reads medal is well within our reach. So please keep reading! We also have Class Dojo this year as a reward system and as a way that us teachers can keep you all up to date with what we are doing in class. Additionally we will update the Year 3 blog each week to let you know what we are doing and all the fun we are having. Please get in touch if you have any questions. Thanks Miss Williams and Mr Cavanagh |
