This week we had our Class Assembly for parents to come and see the great things we have learnt about the Great Fire of London. We have worked hard to find out lots of information about the Great Fire. We have shown this through our writing, art work, singing, prayer writing and even dancing. We think our parents were very proud of our efforts because they all put their thumbs up. Everyone in Year 2 loved the Great Fire of London topic and we will now be able to tell our own children all about it. We have a much better understanding of the ways we can find out about the past including looking at very old newspapers and paintings completed just after the fire. We also found out that there are records kept of everyone who lived in each house including how many fire places the house had! If you would like to find out more about the Great Fire of London or if you want to remind yourself about what you have learnt, try this website there is lots of information and some fun activities.

Today we spent some time learning about 'Safer Internet Day', which was is all about keeping ourselves safe when we use the internet.
We talked about all the different ways we use the internet - on games consoles, computers, phones etc. As a class we discussed how important it is to make sure our parents know what we're doing, that way they can help to keep us safe! We watched a video about playing games online and it showed us that we can't always trust the people we are talking to as they are strangers and we need to be careful! We learnt not to tell anyone our personal information and to tell somebody straight away is we ever feel worried or scared about anything on the internet. |
