We decided to host a Year 2 Enterprise event, to allow us to raise money to pay towards a workshop for the children.
We have some amazing children, parents and staff who contributed and allowed this to happen and.... WE DID IT! We sold so many buns, cakes and biscuits and raised enough money to pay for our Workshop. We couldn't be happier. 30 minutes of a bake sale and we raised so much, we cannot thank you all enough.

As part of our topic, we spent some time playing our favourite board games from home. We all had so much fun! We talked about where board games started, the most popular and there were so many the children hadn't heard of. Many games have been around so long but have definitely changed over the years.
On Thursday we invited parents along to another great family session...junk modelling! Everyone enjoyed making their own robots and they were all fantastic. An assortment of sizes and designs made each and everyone unique! We enjoyed another hook into our new literacy topic....using our imaginations to create our own robots. Just look at our creations. This week, we delved into our new class reader, which is the Iron Man. We listened to the opening of the story and we used our imaginations to draw some pictures of how we pictured the Iron Man. What a great first week back we have had! The children have settled back into routine and are working really hard. We've had the treat of a Panto and are busy working on our Class Assembly in readiness next week. You will absolutely love it :-).
What a delightful treat for a first week back! A panto. The children had a lovely time on Wednesday morning watching Snow White. The laughter and smiles were seen from afar. They loved it. |
