Culture week in Y1 has been amazing! To learn about the story of Noah and his Ark, we have listened to the story from the bible, as a video, and as a singing story. We have represented our understanding of the story through artwork, drama, large and small construction, playdough, small world ark figures and in our reading area! Take a look at some of our learning!
Year 1 have been practising partitioning using objects, pictures and numbers. Here are some pictures of us partitioning.
Year 1 have been practising their balancing and movement as an autumn leaf. They have enjoyed these dance lessons on a Thursday afternoon. Well done Year 1 your concentration was exceptional.
Year 1 went for a walk to look for signs of Autumn. We walked to Wombwell woods in the rain and mud with our wellington boots on and we found lots of Autumn signs. We found acorns, conkers, snails and slugs. We found lots of colourful leaves in gold, yellow, orange and brown. Take a look at our journey.
We have been learning about where we live in the UK, and the other countries and capital cities within the UK. We used the bee bots to navigate around the UK, stopping at the countries and capital cities we know. Take a look at our exciting learning.
Thinking about the colours we are seeing in Autumn, our super stars have been practicing colour mixing and creating shades... We know how to make a colour lighter and darker. Well done Y1's.
