How amazing was world book day! We loved dressing up as our favourite characters. We enjoyed sharing lots of books with our families, each other and the older children who came to join us.We came back to school on pancake day. We had the best day making pancakes and eating them. Yummy! We used the internet to find out all about why we have pancake day and found out it is also called Shrove Tuesday. We have done a lot of work about the story 'The run away Pancake' , making a story board, re telling the story and some of us acted out the story outside.We had a lovely day out at Chatsworth farm this week. We went to look at all the animals and did some amazing Christmas crafts. We even got to dress up and enacted the Christmas story for our parents with real animals in the stable. It was a really special Nativity play in the farm's barn.We had a lovely non uniform day in Nursery raising money for Children in need . It was such a fun day. We made Pudsey bear head-bands, painted Pudsey bear pictures and we even had yellow play dough and yellow sand. We made a little extra money for the charity by selling our spotty biscuits to our mums and dads at home time.This week has been 'Anti-bullying week' in school, so in nursery we have been talking about what a good friend should do. The children have made friendship bracelets to give to a friend next week .We also had great fun making a friendship cake together, which we enjoyed sharing when we drank our milk at story time.We had a big surprise this morning when we arrived at nursery. Our playground was completely flooded! The children were so interested in observing the movement of the water, especially when it began raining again in the afternoon!
As you can see from our learning journey wall we have had a really busy half term. We have been singing lots of nursery rhymes ,learning all about autumn and harvest time. Please remember to look at our learning wall in nursery cloakroom to see our fantastic learning.On Friday we joined in with the rest of school 'Wear it Green Day' in aid of MacMillan Cancer, We enjoyed coming to school in our non uniform outfits and had lots of fun making green pictures with different materials , green glue and green crayons.
