Today was the Year 3 and 5 Harvest Assembly, and what a fantastic job all of the children did.
In Year 3 we have been looking at Fairtrade through our topic 'Chocolate'. This assembly was a fantastic opportunity for us to share the wide variety of work we have done over this half term. We shared the chocolate bar designs that we have been working on in Art and DT. We also explained the importance of fair trade and how buying fairtrade chocolate can help children like us from other countries go to school.

There are two skeleton teachers at school. One is humerous but the other is very sternum!
Today in Year 3 we have had great fun at our first parent workshop of the year building our very own skeletons. A huge thankyou to all the parents who made it to help us. We'll be using these skeletons in our science lessons to help us learn the scientific names of the bones in the body. Once we have learnt all about the skeleton we'll also be writing a non-chronological report. Watch this space to see more of our fantastic work! We have been truly inspired in Year 3 by reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In DT we have been designing packaging for our own chocolate bars thinking about how to make our products look exciting and most importantly appetising! We have also been experimenting with collage whilst designing our wrappers discovering different ways that we can build up texture. In Literacy we have been writing our own stories and inventing our own rooms in which our characters will come to their sticky ends! In Drama we spent some time creating physical theatre to help us come up with some ideas for magnificent machines. Here is a clip of the 'Rainbow Gobstopper Maker' in action: |
